Highlights from this year's GeoDATA All Ireland Showcase

Last week we attended GeoDATA's All Ireland Showcase, a key event that is focused on providing inspiration and learning opportunities from the public and commercial sectors of the geospatial industry.

This year's conference provided delegates with access to educational talks, an exhibition showcasing the latest geospatial products and services. With its large exhibition space, the conference provided an excellent opportunity for Azimap colleagues to network directly with our peers throughout the geospatial industry in Ireland as well as showcasing our latest product updates and developments.

GeoDATA Exhibition

On our stand this year were Michael and Sean who were on hand to provide personalised demonstrations of Azimap to delegates across a range of different industry sectors. In particular, we were able to showcase our experience working with local government, helping to improve performance, drive efficiencies and enhance services. Delegates were also able to see first-hand the latest Azimap updates, including the new Public Data Library as well as information about our GIS and Remote Sensing services.

GeoDATA Presentation

This year's conference was also special for us as Michael McQuillan delivered a presentation on the main stage to all the delegates in attendance. Our presentation was titled; 'Healthy Incentives for a Healthy Environment' and explored the use of GI in overcoming barriers that are preventing activity and a healthy attitude in areas of deprivation. In particular, Michael provided delegates with an assessment of how the technology and GI can be utilised by local councils to improve the health of the public and to encourage citizens to exercise more frequently.

Both the exhibition and presentation served to highlight the strength in depth of Azimap and how it can be used across a range of industries to help organisations take informed, strategic and smart decisions.
