The preferred candidate should be meet the following criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating, customizing and maintaining Azimap GIS based web-mapping applications and APIs
- Creating and modifying database (includes spatial databases) tables, views, queries and stored procedures for use by applications and the websitesAzimap Server administration and maintenance
- Creating and modifying Asp.Net based backend web services
- Creating and maintaining database diagrams and technical documentation
- Participating in project development and testing as assigned
- Installing and maintaining a web-based GIS development, test and production environment
- Researching about new sources/methods of spatial data representation on web-based environments
- Participating in the assessment and recommendation of development tools and platforms
Key Essentials:
- A minimum of 4 years front end web development experience
- JavaScript / jQuery / HTML5 / CSS / Ajax
- Experience of ASP.NET
- Rational Database Experience
- Web standards and code optimisation experience
- Responsive web application development experience e.g. bootstrap
- Source control experience
- Ability to work on own initiative
Desirable:
- C# .NET
- OpenLayers 2/3/4
- ASP.NET WebForms/MVC
- Design Patterns
- MS SQL Server
- PostGreSQL
- Experience of front end frameworks, eg Angular JS, React etc
- Python ScriptingExperience of UX design
- Software Architecture Design
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree essential – minimum 2:1
- GCSE Maths & English – minimum grade B
- Academic background or experience within the following fields:GIS or Computer Science
